Dahlia Tuber Workshop: November 8th

Dahlia Tuber Workshop: November 8th
Saturday November 8th at 1 PM
Take a deep dive into everything dahlias! This class is an informational based workshop with a hands-on dividing part as well. If you’re into gardening or growing dahlias, this workshop is for you. I certainly get the most questions about dahlias and this is the place to learn it all and ask all your burning questions.
Emily will discuss exactly how we grow and care for our 3,500+ dahlia plants and tubers. From planting, growing, fertilizing, stabilizing, cutting, digging, dividing, and storing. We will cover it all but our primary focus will be on dividing and storing at this time of year.
You’ll get an entire clump of Emily’s dahlias to practice dividing and then take them all home to practice storing and then grow in your own garden come spring! You are also welcome to bring a clump of your own tubers to practice on with some guidance (you’ll still get a clump to take home!)
You’ll also go home with a document to refresh yourself when the warm weather rolls back around and you’re able to plant your own tubers.
Class will be held on the farm rain or shine.
Geared toward the home gardener. No experience necessary. Come and learn!
Dress appropriately (comfortable clothing and sturdy shoes, sneakers or boots) and bring gardening gloves if desired. All other tools and items will be provided (if you have a very sharp and pointy pair of shears, bring those as well, I have several to share if not).
Also note: our farm is on hills and slopes so the ability to walk, kneel, & stand on uneven terrain is necessary for this workshop. Signing of agritourism liability waiver required (see below).
**Please be aware that this is a working farm. We expect respectful behavior, adherence to directions, mindfulness of your surroundings, and kindness to all around you. Please never enter an area unless explicitly permitted to do so.
*Ticketed participants only. No children. No pets.
